Situation The Senate is built on 4 pillars (economy, ecology, education, health). Especially the ecological point is becoming more and more important in our society when it comes to nature conservation/CO2 emissions and sustainability. This point no longer only has a moral component but is also increasingly demanded by consumers. Acting actively as a company with regard to ecology is thus becoming an important economic success factor.

Problem For small, but also larger companies, however, it can be problematic how to improve ecologically without engaging exclusively in simple greenwashing. Often, related options such as carbon offsetting are a start, but not a project that takes place in the immediate vicinity of the company and is run by relatively non-transparent companies.

Solution Projects in the immediate region, at least in Austria or Europe, would be much better. There could be a platform where companies (members of the Business Senate) can post projects they would like to implement. These could be, for example, projects that would be too big or too expensive for one company alone. Via the platform, other companies can help each other financially, but also with the planning. In this way, ecological projects can be implemented more easily and, above all, with greater impact in the immediate vicinity of the company. The "Senate" can only serve as a platform, but can also propose concrete projects on the platform and take over the planning for them.

With such a platform, the Senate would once again become more attractive for smaller but also medium-sized companies, which can network in an increasingly important topic and receive active help.
